Jon Wild has lived and breathed music for the past 20 years, starting out as a prodigious teenage guitarist and pianist for several rock and blues bands on Birmingham/Wolverhampton’s lively club circuit before moving to London in 2007 to fully expand his horizons. In 2010 he graduated from Bimm (formally known as Tech Music Schools) with a Bmus hons degree in popular music performance. While at Bimm Jon excelled in playing various styles including rock, classical, pop, jazz, reggae, R&B, metal and soul.
After finishing his Degree Jon was signed to a major label (Universal) in a rock band called Romance and toured the UK, Europe and Japan and released an album and single. Jon was the primary writer and producer for the band and has collaborated with various other pop, rock and blues artists. Jon still performs regularly in originals and function bands as a singer, guitarist, bassist and pianist. Jon is currently signed with label based in USA called Curtain Call Records in a band called District 13 in which he performs lead vocals and guitar. The band recently performed at Hills Of Rock Festival along with big acts including Slipknot, Testament and Sabato.
Jon has been teaching for the past 9 years and loves to share his joy of music with others. He started out teaching a few private lessons to help finance his studies and has since become a full time music tutor. Jon has worked with students of mixed ages and abilities (including special needs) in one on one and group sessions. He tailor’s his lessons to each individual student’s needs. He has worked students through ABRSM, Trinity and Rockschool syllabus’s along with helping student’s improve their improvisational and composition skills. As well as being a guitarist and pianist Jon is confident on the bass, drums and vocals and plays and records all the instruments on a lot of his original music.
